I'm Gavin and your host
I'm a long time resident of Hanmer Springs and a huge lover of the great outdoors and all the region has to offer.
I would love to share with you our fabulous piece of paradise.
How we started
As a lover of Hanmer Springs and all the region has to offer I was looking to offer a unique couples retreat.
A retreat that was private, and immersed in nature. A retreat that encompassed the fabulous views and amazing night skies.
A retreat where guests could truly indulge, immerse and relax, and so the Shepherds Hut Retreat was born and has evolved into a guest favourite and something just that little bit special.

Guest access ... You'll have your own private space with viewing decks and plenty of room to chill out and relax, or wander down the garden path that gives you direct and private access to the forest with its many walking and mountain bike tracks.
Please note that access is via a steep driveway.
